(Cupcakes by mommyvanj)

An online friend’s cake business has really boomed the past year. Sheer talent, that is, made everything possible for her. She makes the cutest cakes out there, give her a request to make you a cake of your favorite cartoon character, a theme for a director’s party,  and she’ll surely get the job done. She has had a number of celebrities for customers and it makes her all the more popular in the cake/pastry industry. Too bad, she’s quite far from where we live.

She and a couple other friends inspired me to try my hand at baking but I still have so much to learn, to understand especially translate…Being in a german-speaking country is not easy because I had to look for the ingredients specifically in English stores. Still, I’m too far behind their experience. I can’t even make decent marshmallow fondant. 🙁

I’ve been watching some videos related to baking and my interest and urge to learn just grows. Hubby and I are going to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary soon and I plan to give hime something he’s long wanted. It’s either one of the running models of  Timex watches or a Tag Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz. I am also looking at some Casio watches specifically a black G-shock that he’s eyeing. Knowing that hubby has sweet tooth, the watch that I’ll choose wouldn’t be enough. This is why a watch-cake like the one below is something I thought of (in case I’m not able to get my target budget, I’ll just have the cake lol). He’d surely be surprised if I’m able to come up with something like this…I’m now off to practice to perfect this by then. 😉
