A Slice may be enough…or not
I am rekindling the love I had for avocado as a kid. Since there was a tree in our backyard, I would have them in abundant during the season. I would slice it in two, remove the seed, I scoop out the flesh and let it swim on milk. Hihi!
The ones I buy though have tighter skin that I need to slice the avocado into pieces before peeling off the skin, works well too. I am including avocado in my daily diet in a desperate attempt to fight the hormonal imbalance effects on my skin (read: lots of pimples), embarrasing as it may
That’s why I make sure the day won’t pass by without even a small a slice.
Anyway, here are some interesting facts about avocado, it being an aphrodisiac need not be mentioned. (Well, I did).

High avocado intake has been shown to have an effect on blood serum cholesterol levels. Specifically, after a seven day diet rich in avocados, hypercholesterolemia patients showed a 17% decrease in total serum cholesterol levels. These subjects also showed a 22% decrease in both LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels and 11% increase in HDL (good cholesterol) levels.
About 75% of an avocado’s calories come from fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat. Avocados also have 60% more potassium than bananas. They are rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K.[19] They have the highest fiber content of any fruit – including 75% insoluble and 25% soluble fiber.[20]
A fatty triol (fatty alcohol) with one double bond, avocadene (16-heptadecene-1,2,4-triol), is found in avocado.

Oooo yum! I remember my grandparents always have this for dessert with milk and ice!
Avocado “soup” with crushed ice and milk is a summer favorite since I was child and never get tired of it.
I like the light hitting the sides of the avocado crater, it’s pretty.

i love avocado.. especially as a shake. I had a post about this last year. And yes, avocado is so nutritious, they say one avocado is equivalent to 4 eggs.

I think this would be some tedious old posting, however it compensated for my time. I will posting a link to this post on my web log. I am sure my readers will discover that very useful.
